OUR NAME SAYS IT ALL

Outdoor enthusiasts, families, history buffs, and nature lovers have always flocked to Buena Vista for the beautiful views, river adventures, mountain experiences, and gathering places we offer.

Walk, Drive, Bike, Or Paddle

Buena Vista is right off the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Appalachian Trail, and the Maury River. Canoe, kayak, or tube down to Glasgow, where the Maury meets the mighty and historic James River. Go for an easy hike on the Riverwalk or the Chessie Nature Trail. For the seasoned adventurer, hit the AT, Mount Pleasant, Devil’s Marbleyard, or any of the many abundant hiking, biking, and climbing spots.

Park For A Spell

The 300-acre Glen Maury Park is the meeting place for outdoor fun. Buena Vista’s signature park offers concerts, special events, camping, a swimming pool, skate park, picnic pavilions, an ice cream stand, and the Vista Links golf course next door. In the summer, you can catch live music or festival fun every weekend.

Then Head Into Town

In town, stroll down Main Street, browse art galleries, and stop for a concert in our newly-restored Town Square. Visit the campus of Southern Virginia University, grab a cup of artisan coffee or some local eats.

And no need to drive. It’s perfectly fine to drive your golf cart anywhere in Buena Vista. We’re also bike and pedestrian-friendly, as well.
