Jesse Lineberry
Mayor
Mr. Jesse Lineberry took office in January 2026 and is a lifelong resident and 2009 Parry McCluer High School graduate who works in the HVAC field, has served on the Buena Vista Planning Commission, remains actively involved in community service, and is a devoted husband and father.
Danny Staton
Vice-Mayor
Mr. Danny Staton Took office in January 2018 and was appointed Vice-Mayor in 2024 and 2026. He currently serves on the Council’s Glen Maury Park and Cemetery Committees, and is a 1981 Parry McCluer High School graduate, works as a Parts Specialist for Magic City Ford, and is a proud husband and father of two.

Michelle Poluikis
Council Member
Mrs. Michelle Poluikis took office in January 2024. Michelle Poluikis serves on the School Facilities and Budget & Finance Committees, is originally from upstate New York, made Buena Vista her home five years ago, and works as a paraprofessional at Parry McCluer High School.

Ron Cash
Council Member
Mr. Ron Cash took office in January 2024. Ron Cash serves on the Cemetery and Events Committees, recently retired from Dominion Energy, and volunteers with several local and regional service groups.

Amy Gilliam
Council Member
Mrs. Amy Gilliam took office in January 2026. Amy Gilliam serves on the Budget and Finance and School Facilities Committees, is a lifelong Buena Vista resident with a background in administrative healthcare roles, and values collaboration in working toward shared community goals.

Stephanie Noel-Branch
Council Member
Mrs. Stephanie Noel-Branch took office in January 2026. Stephanie Noel Branch serves on the Citizens Advisory and Outdoor Spaces Committees, holds a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and works as a Care Coordinator for Carilion Family Medicine, and is a loving wife, mother of three, and is affectionately known as “Mimi” to her five grandkids.

City Attorney
Brian Kearney, City Attorney
Mr. Kearney has served the City as its City Attorney since 2004. He graduated from Concord College in 1982 with a Major in History and Political Science and from Washington & Lee School of Law in 1986. Mr. Kearney was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 1986, and he’s been practicing in the Buena Vista, Lexington, Rockbridge County area since 1987. He is a partner in the law firm of Heslep & Kearney, P.C.
