Buena Vista is part of a connected, motivated, and supportive business community. Together, we offer the tools to help you fulfill your entrepreneurial vision and provide networking and other resources for your business.
- Shenandoah Valley Partnership (SVP): Regional economic development agency that works with public and private partners at the local, regional, and state levels to develop an economic climate for business success throughout the Shenandoah Valley.
- Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP): A state authority designed to better serve those seeking a prime business location and increased trade opportunities. The organization fosters increased expansion of the Commonwealth’s economy.
- Small Business Development Center (SBDC): The SBDC offers no-fee, confidential consulting services, assists with feasibility studies and business planning, sponsors seminars and training events, and provides information and other services to new and established small and medium-sized businesses.
- Shenandoah Community Capital Fund (SCCF): helps entrepreneurs develop and grow their ideas into local businesses. Its mission is to connect people, cultivate ideas, and identify resources to grow Staunton’s local economy.
- Shenandoah Valley Workforce Development Board (SVWDB): Acts as a catalyst to provide seamless services among various workforce programs and provides community leadership around workforce issues, and provides oversight and administration of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) in the Shenandoah Valley.
- Regional Tourism serving Lexington, Buena Vista, and Rockbridge County: Increases awareness of the Buena Vista and the Rockbridge Area as a visitor destination through a collective sales and marketing approach that stimulates overnight stays, enhances visitor spending, and ultimately produces a substantial economic impact for the City of Buena Vista.
- Main Street Buena Vista (MSBV): A volunteer-based, nonprofit organization that works to create a prosperous and welcoming downtown while preserving BV’s unique charm.Offers four committees for citizens and business owners to get involved.
- Chamber of Commerce serving Lexington, Buena Vista, and Rockbridge County: Works with area businesses by facilitating connections to people or solutions that will help them grow and remain profitable. The Chamber also works with local government and area partners to support business growth and serves as a clearinghouse of information to create new opportunities.
- Shenandoah Valley Technology Council: A non-profit membership organization serving the greater Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Its members are creators and users of technology who gather together for education, networking, and business development.
- The Advancement Foundation (TAF): A non-profit organization that provides infrastructure, support, and business assistance resources to create an effective local entrepreneurial ecosystem. TAF offers numerous initiatives such as the GAUNTLET business development program & competition, the Innovation Mill, the HIVE business incubation center, Biz NATION, and more.
- Rockbridge Outdoors: A partnership of over 30 organizations, working to collaboratively advance, create, and promote outdoor recreational opportunities in the Rockbridge Area.
