November General Election

The November General Election Day occurs on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2020
The polls are open from 6:00am – 7:00pm.
Polling Place:  2039 Sycamore Avenue, Buena Vista, VA 24416
Curbside Voting is available at all voting precincts on Election Day.

IMPORTANT DATES:
The Voter Registration Deadline: October 13, 2020

At Registrar’s Office – 5:00pm  *Check operating hours for DMV or other state designated voter registration agencies authorized to receive voter registration applications.
By mail – Postmarked by October 13, 2020.
Online Registration via Virginia Department of Elections website – 11:59pm  *Applications that are required to be printed and delivered to the registrar should be treated as regular mailed in applications (postmarked by October 13, 2020). The October 13, 5:00pm deadline would apply if they are submitted in-person at the Registrar’s Office. 

In Person Absentee Voting Starts: September 18, 2020 

Last Day to Submit an Absentee Ballot Application by Mail, Fax or E-mail: October 23, 2020
Last Day to Vote Absentee in Person: October 31, 2020
In Person Absentee Voting will be available Monday thru Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm, closed 12:30pm – 1:00 pm and will additionally be available Saturday, October 24, and Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 9:00am – 5:00pm.
Last Day for Absentee Ballots to be Returned by Mail: Postmarked by November 3, 2020
*The Ballot can also be returned in person at the Registrar’s office but only by the voter. 
**Ballots must be returned to the locality from which they were mailed out.
