Join us to create a vibrant Downtown community space!
Phase 1 construction begins Winter/Spring 2024, and we want YOUR help to make it happen!
Remember the days when neighbors would gather in the town square to hear live music, discuss local issues, and catch up with friends? Those days are back! As part of Buena Vista’s project to revitalize downtown. We began exploring building a vibrant community gathering space. In 2021, the City purchased the property at the corner of 21st Street and Magnolia Avenue thanks to a generous grant from the Virginia Outdoors Foundation. From there, we began work with the community to plan and develop what has been temporarily coined the “Town Square”(Stay tuned for naming updates!)
In the Spring of 2024, we partnered with local timber framers and VMI to begin construction of the Town Square pavilion.
But we’re not done yet!
You can be a part of bringing Buena Vista Town Square to life. You can:
- Donate money to help cover project costs
- Donate labor and expertise
- Provide needed construction materials
- Sponsor landscaping, furnishings, or key elements!
- Volunteer with us.
